What is missing in my Life?
Christopher Titmuss
9:30 am - 4:30 pm Saturday 19 January 2019
Dharma Primary School, Brighton
Our mind can easily get caught up in what is missing in our life - love, a role, peace of mind, children, success, intimacy, fulfilment and more.
We live a life torn between what is present and what is absent.
The duality of presence and absence generates stress, feelings of failure and time pressure.
There are other ways to view the circumstances of our existence.
In this one-day workshop, we explore these issues using mindfulness, meditation and sharing of experiences.
The day will include a talk on the theme, inquiry and questions and answers.

(I am stepping in for Martin A for the five sessions, as he is away with internet uncertainty).
We live in the world of time thinking of it as the true reality, forgetting time serves as a useful device. For example, show me anything that comes to our senses stating it is 2025.
SESSIONS
Sessions fall into three areas - guided meditation, short talk, questions/sharing. I will invite participants to engage in a single task for the next 24 hours until the following day.
You can share. You can listen to what others say or write in the Chat column in response to the daily task and questions for myself. Remember to keep a note of your response to the task to share on a session.
Your contribution supprts everybody else.
I am looking forward to our daily meetings.

We are faced with major challenges. Conflict, self-doubt and a troubled world express three of the issues affecting our daily lives.
As human beings, we are an interactive presentation of five primary compositions, namely body, feeling tones, perceptions, thoughts and consciousness.
In this guided journey, Christopher Titmuss, a senior Dharma teacher, author, and former Buddhist monk, nvites us to discover the art of reflection, where skilful inquiry, alone or with others, reveals the conditions that produce suffering and the pathways to dissolve it.
In our 4 weeks together – through live dharma talks, mindful meditation practice, and interactive inquiry – we’ll explore how reflection illuminates the root causes of the challenges we face revealing space for growth and inner freedom

Talk, guided meditation and Q&A.
Theme
Exploration of karma deserves reflecting and meditating upon.
It is a precise psychology related to intention/action/result , internal and external, past and present and the timeless. Influence of past karma matters.
We will explore four kinds of karma.
-
Wholesome (wholesome, healthy, not producing harm)
-
Unwholesome (unwholesome, unhealthy, harmful).
-
Neither wholesome or unwholesome
-
Karma. Freedom of action not tied to the past.
I will give teachings/practices related to our first-hand experience.
Pali scholars usually translate karma as action. Technically, karma means action. In my view, action does not communicate important subtlety and nuances, as expressed in the word karma.
Suitable for meditators and non-meditators.

IN CONCLUSION
Teachers, managers, directors of centres, organisers and staff connected with our programmes, residential and Zoom, offer a service. This principle applies before the programme we offer during the event and after.
A small team of people often give support to a large group. If you feel concern on any matter whatsoever
with any of our responses to you, before, during or after an event, please email us. Where and when?
What was written? What was said? What happened? A manager, teacher or trustee will address your concern and get back to you or you can contact the centre.
THANK YOU.
